Updated: Jan 16
These are actual photographs from different inspections in our county. Can you see what the problems are?
1. ↓ This is a hand washing sink. Do you see any extra fixtures attached?
2. ↓ This is a warehouse space for a mobile food unit. Anything you notice that is not allowed?
3. ↓ Outside view of a mobile unit warehouse. Any potential issues with the gap?
4. ↓ Flour/cornstarch station for deep fried foods? Any concerns?
5. ↓ This is a hand washing sink in a food cart. How functional does it look to you?
Answers:
To the right of the cold water faucet handle is a glass rinser in this coffee cart. Hand washing sinks are exclusively for washing hands. The glass rinser was removed.
All three images contain prohibited activities within a warehouse space. Warehouses are only for storing packaged food. Ice machine (prepping) and stored foods prepared in the cart may not be stored in warehouse refrigeration. Check out the Oregon Health Authority's rules on warehouses here.
This gap allowed direct access in to the warehouse. We noticed rodent runways in the area and saw evidence of rodents in this warehouse. The operator sealed this up.
The dredging bowl and hotel pan below it are encrusted with flour and corn starch that obviously has exceeded the 4-hour limit. This is an in-use utensil and must be washed, rinsed, and sanitized every 4 hours.
This is a hand washing sink that was converted to supply water an added ice maker. This was done after the approval. The correction was removing the ice machine and removing the equipment and tubing that was added to support the ice machine for the hand washing sink.
