Q & A - Spring Mix in a Bag
Updated: Jun 21, 2021
Q - When does the 7 day date marking begin with cut spring mixes? It's confusing because they were cut before going into the bag.
A - Good question! The seven-day shelf life would begin when you open the commercially processed salad mixes in bags or containers and must be discarded after opening if not served within seven days. Examples of leafy greens would include all types of lettuce (iceberg, romaine, butter, leaf, and baby leaf), escarole, endive, spring mix, spinach, cabbage, kale, arugula, and chard.
