Q & A - Handling Money and Handing Food

Q - Do I have to wash my hands between handling money and getting pastries for a customer?

A - Another hand washing question… great! If you are a cashier and use those wax paper squares or tongs, and your hands and fingers do not come in contact with the food then you do not have to wash your hands. If you are grabbing a bagel with tongs, slicing it, putting it in the toaster with your hands and then spreading some cream cheese on it … yep… you definitely need to wash your hands.
