Restaurants are Expanding Seating into the Streets

Updated: Nov 27, 2020

SW Harvey Milk has closed down completely from SW Burnside to SW 12th to accommodate seating for the Zeus Cafe and Jake's Famous Crawfish. It not only meets meets the social distancing requirements but and looks inviting as well.

Our local government is trying to find ways to help small businesses gain some footing. There is a new permit available that will allow you to move out into the sidewalks and streets. Several cafes have already taken over the parking spaces in front of their location and some streets have also been closed completely. This is to allow business owners a better chance of providing services with the increased space, supporting the required social distancing.

Please check out the Safe Streets Initiative provide by the Bureau of Transportation to get started.

Check out Eater PDX for updated locations.
